Monique Madrid
Monique Madrid is a festival organizer based in Jacksonville. In 2016, she became the first black female film festival organizer in Jacksonville. She created a comedy film festival called LOL JAX Film Festival, providing a platform to local community filmmakers, actors/actresses, and comedians to showcase their short films and talent. The motto of the festival is “Love Our Locals while Laughing Out Loud”. She is the co-city producer of the Jacksonville 48 Hour Film Project which is an international filming competition that challenges filmmakers to make a short film in only 48 hours. The Jacksonville city winner goes on to compete with other city winners from around the world at Filmapalooza for a chance to have their films screened and honored at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner. In 2023, Jacksonville won grand champion at Filmapalooza and were able to represent Duval in France. She has worked on film projects as a story editor, line producer, assist editor, voice over and camera operator.

Alyce Denson

Adam Madrid
Adam Madrid, a self-taught filmmaker based in Jacksonville, Florida, made a significant impact in the film industry in 2014. He won both the “Best Film” and “Best Director” awards at the Jacksonville 48 Hour Film Project, which earned him a screening at the prestigious Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California. His exceptional talent and dedication quickly garnered attention, leading to an invitation to join the gameday crew for the Jacksonville Jaguars the same year.
In 2017, Adam’s skills as a videographer and photographer were recognized when he was hired by PRI Productions. He captured iconic moments at various events, including the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, NASA/SpaceX launch, performances by Celine Dion and Jill Scott, NCAA March Madness tournaments, presidential speeches, and NFL events.
Driven by a passion for showcasing local talent, Adam co-created the LOL JAX Film Festival. This platform is dedicated to highlighting local filmmakers, actors, actresses, and stand-up comedians. At the Jacksonville Free Press, Jones-Turpin holds senior editorial and managerial roles, including associate editor and sales team manager. In these positions, she shapes coverage and supports the paper’s mission to inform and empower underrepresented audiences.
Jones-Turpin’s diverse career includes working with the Jacksonville Jaguars during their early years. She served as an administrative assistant on the organization’s scouting staff during its inaugural NFL season in 1995 and later became the producer of the Lynn and Friends Show. As host and producer, the show interviewed local, national, and international dignitaries, celebrities, and friends. With a successful 10-year run, Lynn hosted over 100 shows, cataloged on her website, www.lynnandfriends.com.
